Skilful hands for professional athletes and dancers
Lots of professional dancers suffer constant back pains and groin injuries. Number of dancers in fulltime training ends up spending time off injured and are taking unnecessary time to recover. Would you like to cut that recovery time by maintaining your flexibility and strength during the time off stage? How about to make sure the injury risk was minimised in the first place? As a training body or a dance company would you like to offer an alternative training for your dancers to make sure they have the best start and the injury prevention/care for their long lasting career?
Method Putkisto offers not only a way to look well and youthful throughout your years but to control your weight by increasing your own metabolism and to maintain your body during those unfortunate injuries.
In addition to the method an instructor who knows the pressures put on a body of a dancer can give you a
great help no matter at what stage of your career you
are at. Milla Kauhanen has a 12 years experience of
dancing, choreographing and training new hopeful dancers. She is currently teaching at Millennium Dance 2000, performing with BLAUproduction and running
her own production company MILITATEDANCEco.
Ikky Maas, co-director of Millennium Dance 2000 acknowledges that : 'The combined knowledge of
dance technique and Method Putkisto will allow Milla
to be an extraordinary teacher and coach.' And Jarmo Ahonen, Physiotherapist of Finnish National Ballet and member of the board at IADMS (International Association of Dance, Medicine and Science) ads 'This combined knowledge will improve dancers' alignment, placement and technique. The skill and proper knowledge of the body are the key factors in preventing dance related injuries. I've seen Milla working as my student and I
must say that she has all the potential to work with
injured dancers and also in preventing dance injuries.'
Milla has recently started to apply the knowledge she has gained with dancers to other professional athletes. Method Putkisto institute has a specific department for Professional Sport and Dance and the results have been very promising. Like 100m sprinter Tyrone Lewis agrees: 'Applying Method Putkisto has improved my sprint technique and I am amazed at the results I have in such a short time.'
